At 15, she was entered in Donald Trump's Miss Universe Organization to become Miss Ocean Shores, WA USA, and to represent her city in the Miss Washington USA Pageant. Her platform was "Skin Cancer Awareness Amongst Teens." Mayor Dean Bunkers of Ocean Shores, awarded Courtney with a proclamation to the town for her city works.
